Jonosteril Infusion Solution Indications·Fluid and electrolyte replacement in cases of balanced acid-base status and in cases of existing or impending acidosis·Short-term, intravascular volume replacement·Isotonic dehydration·Hypotonic dehydration·Jonosteril is indicated for use in adults, newborns, infants, children and adolescents. Pharmacological properties·The solution is an isotonic electrolyte solution (full electrolyte solution) whose main cations are adapted to plasma composition, used to correct disturbances in fluid and electrolyte balance. The administration of electrolytes serves to restore or maintain normal osmotic conditions in the extracellular and intracellular spaces. ·When this solution is administered, the interstitium—which accounts for approximately two-thirds of the extracellular space—is initially replenished. Only approximately one-third of the administered volume remains intravascular. The solution is therefore only haemodynamically effective in the short term.
